The documentary is a two-hour look into the creative process of Hayao Miyazaki, chronicling six long years of work on the Japanese animation master's latest film, The Boy and the Heron. a moving and funny documentary. Kaku Arakawa gets to closely follow the creative process of Hayao Miyazaki in making the film The Boy and the Heron. It beautifully combines scenes from Miyazaki's films with real people involved in the making of the film and people who are/were important to Miyazaki. I saw this film at the Helsinki International Film Festival Love and Amplitude; Anarchy. Some moments made the audience laugh out loud and some moments made people wipe their teeth. I hope Miyazaki can make more films. I cannot recommend this documentary to any Ghibli fan.
