Director Fede Alvarez enlisted the special effects team from Alien 2 (1986) to work on the creatures

Chronology

While searching the depths of an abandoned space station, a group of young space colonists stumble upon the most terrifying life form in the universe. Alien: Romulus stars Cailee Spaeny and Isabela Merced reveal why director Fede Alvarez used practical effects and animatronic xenomorphs to terrify the cast. Wherever possible, physical sets, practical creatures and miniatures were used to inform later visual effects work. When Rain turns off the ship's gravity and shoots all the aliens, all of their blood hangs in the air in long, blurry patterns. Real-life weightlessness causes fluids to take the shape of a sphere rather than flowing in long, flat pieces like in the movie.

Andy: The solution to a claustrophobic astronaut is to give him more space. The 20th Century Studios fanfare freezes and becomes ominous, as in Alien 3 (1992), leading into the film's opening scene. Predictable and superficial plot and characters

I saw it last night and was pretty disappointed. There was so much hype about it. This really is just another mediocre Alien movie that we really didn't need. Some parts made me laugh, but not in a good way. It is literally a facsimile of the first two films in look, feel and tone.

The same goes for the Terminator

Copy. Yes, there are some new moments that were interesting, but moments don't make a movie. The ending was also completely off, which we've already seen with Alien Resurrection. We don't need any more movies. Everything that needs to be said has already been said in the first two films.
