It's not perfect, but it's still pretty fun

Lately there's been a temptation to look at films that aren't perfect as disappointments, and I hope that's not the case here. A Deadpool and Wolverine team-up has been teased since 2009' disaster X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie. The goal of the film is to find a balance between being accessible to casual viewers and at the same time satisfying die-hard fans of the characters. However, the film also faces the challenge of navigating the complex and intricate web of continuity that exists within the Marvel Universe.

With close to 50 (!) movies in its continuity (not including the TV shows and Sony movies), the Deadpool and Wolverine movie had to carefully thread the needle to ensure it respected established lore while still providing a fresh and interesting story. Despite the potential baggage of their expansive continuity, Deadpool and Wolverine function independently. The final season of the series "What We Do in the Shadows" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
