Waterford in "The Handmaid's Tale" the kind of role that gets under your skin and stays there. It wants to be spooky, disturbing, even grotesque.

Instead, it drags, causing yawns where there should be tension, eye rolls instead of chills

Like the moment they buy the kid's story and then start throwing the "Assassin" like a game. Of course, the series reaches alongside the heavyweights of dystopian drama, but it lacks plot, dialogue, even characters, it was just afraid of hitting the right notes.
