Chronology

After the events of The Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, a.k.a. The Penguin, stages a plot to seize control of Gotham's criminal underworld. Aside from the final gunshot in the season finale, we never see "Penguin" again.

Colin Farrell fought hard to get his version of The Penguin to smoke tobacco in The Batman (2022), but failed. However, for his own series, the character is depicted as an occasional tobacco user, preferring cigars. logo.

I thought Colin Farrell was great as the Penguin in Batman, but I never understood why a skinny good-looking actor would put him in a huge prosthetic leg and a fat suit. I also never really understood why this spin-off was coming, and to be honest, I'm sick of Batman reboots.

But I didn't expect to like it this much

But after the first episode I can confirm that this show is amazing (so far). I only watched it knowing that it was essential to watch a bridge between the first and second movies, and knowing that Farrell was amazing in the character in the first movie. The acting is fantastic, the writing is fantastic, and it surprised me with its quick twists.

I hope this continues because I honestly can't wait for the next episode

The biggest thing I liked was that it had a lot more color than Batman. That was my biggest complaint about the movie (it felt like I was watching it through a Zack Snyder lens), so I watched it almost immediately.
